Gifts help leverage R&D efforts

Tax credits available for Oregon taxpayers

multipipettesYou can help transform UO discoveries into tomorrow’s business by making a gift to the University Venture Development Fund.

Your Gift also will benefit faculty and students, who learn how to turn research and technologies into business opportunities. The university, in turn, receives royalties from successful ventures—income that supports its research, education and outreach missions.

What’s more, qualifying gifts can receive Oregon state income-tax credits worth up to 60 percent of their value.

Your gift will support three key steps in the difficult early stages of moving commercially viable research from lab to market.

  • Market feasibility and assessment studies on patentable technologies and innovations emerging from faculty and student research
  • Proof-of-concept and translational research grants
  • Seed grants, awarded as matching funds, to new UO spinout companies with demonstrated potential for commercial success
